UEERA0036 practice is for students working on UEERA0036, Establish the basic operating conditions of vapour compression systems, a core unit of UEE32225 Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. It runs in the browser with no account, and nothing a student types is sent anywhere.
What's on the page
- The ideas: gauge and absolute pressure, saturation, superheat, subcooling, and dew point, bubble point and glide.
- A worked example on R-454B, revealed a step at a time. Choose Next step, or Show every step.
- Guided exercise: work each step yourself and choose Check. Each step opens once the one before it is checked, and a figure within a few tenths counts, since a printed chart is read to about that. New figures draws another question.
- Practice set: every kind of question in the module, with a fresh set of figures whenever you choose New set of figures. Check each one to see Kelvin's answer and working. Only each question's first check counts towards the score.
- Check a worksheet: open a printed worksheet by its code.
Check a printed worksheet
- 1
Find the code printed at the top of the worksheet: nine or ten letters and figures.
- 2
Under Check a worksheet, type it into Worksheet code and choose Open the worksheet.
- 3
Answer each question as you did on paper and choose Check. Each one shows Kelvin's answer, how close an answer has to be to count as right, and the working.
The code is the sheet: it draws the same questions and figures again, so nothing is stored anywhere. Upper and lower case read alike, and so do I, L and 1, and O and 0. If the page says “That isn't a worksheet code”, check it against the sheet and type it again.
Where the answers come from
Every figure is worked out by Kelvin on the public refrigerant tables computed with CoolProp. A blend's superheat is read from its dew point and its subcooling from its bubble point. Nothing is extrapolated: a reading outside a table is never set as a question.
Note
This is practice and teaching material mapped to the unit's code. It isn't an RTO assessment tool: whether any of it is used as evidence is the teacher's call.
