Set and mark assignments

Set an assignment, see where each student is, mark hand-ins Satisfactory or Not yet satisfactory, release marks and export them.

An assignment is a set of UEERA0036 questions. Every student gets their own figures for each question, and Kelvin works out every answer with its working, so you mark against Kelvin's answers rather than a key of your own.

Set an assignment

  1. 1

On the class page, choose Set an assignment.

  2. 2

Give it a Title, and tick the Questions it carries.

  3. 3

Set Due (optional) if it has a due date.

  4. 4

Under Kelvin's answers and working, choose when students see them: Once handed in, or Once you release a mark.

  5. 5

Add any Instructions (optional), then choose Set it.

Work handed in after the due date is accepted and marked late, not refused.

See where everyone is

Open the assignment from Assignments on the class page. Students lists each student, where they are with it (not started, started, to mark, handed in late, or their mark), how many of their answers match Kelvin's, and when they handed in. Which questions the class gets right counts the right answers question by question, across each student's latest hand-in.

Mark a hand-in

  1. 1

Choose Mark beside a student who has handed in. Their hand-in opens: each question with their answer beside Kelvin's, the check, and Kelvin's working.

  2. 2

Add a note under any question, if you want to.

  3. 3

Choose the Outcome: Satisfactory or Not yet satisfactory.

  4. 4

Write any Feedback to the student.

  5. 5

Leave Release it to the student now ticked for the student to see the mark now, or untick it to release it later.

  6. 6

    Choose Save the mark.

A mark is never edited. Marking again makes a new mark: the newest stands, and earlier ones stay on record. A mark not yet released has Release beside it, and once released it stays released.

Not yet satisfactory opens another attempt for the student, with new figures for the same kinds of question. A student can't start another attempt while their last hand-in waits to be marked, or once it's marked Satisfactory.

If Kelvin's figures for a question have changed since it was handed in, the hand-in says so. The question and answer shown are always the ones the student answered, kept with the hand-in.

Export the marks

Export marks (CSV) downloads one row per student, from their latest attempt: when they handed in, whether it was late, how many answers were right, the outcome, who marked it and when, and whether it was released. It's for your own records system.

Note

Assignments are practice and teaching material mapped to the unit's code, not an RTO assessment tool. Whether you use them as evidence is your call.
