Join a class and hand in your work

Join your teacher's class from its link, answer an assignment with your own figures, hand it in, and start again if you're asked to.

Training and classes · For students · Updated 7 Oct 2026

Your teacher shares a class link. You join the class with your own Kelvin account. You don't need to set up a firm, and joining doesn't give anyone access to anything else on your account.

Join the class

  1. 1

Open the class link your teacher gave you, the whole link.

  2. 2

If you're not signed in, sign in, or choose Create one to make an account. Use your institute email if you have one. Kelvin brings you back to the class link afterwards, in the same browser tab.

  3. 3

If you've just made your account, confirm your email address first: a class can't be joined until it's confirmed.

  4. 4

Enter Your name, as your class knows you. Your teacher sees this name, your hand-ins and your marks.

  5. 5

Tick the box to confirm you're 18 or over. Kelvin's classes are for students 18 or over for now.

  6. 6

    Choose Join the class.

If the page says the link isn't valid, it has expired or been replaced: ask your teacher for the current one. A class that has finished can't be joined, and if your teacher has taken you out of a class, ask them to add you back.

Answer an assignment

  1. 1

Open your class from My classes, then the assignment.

  2. 2

Answer each question. Type a figure as you would a reading: the unit is given, and the ± button beside the cell changes the sign.

  3. 3

Your answers save as you go, and Save for later saves them now.

  4. 4

When you're done, choose Hand in, then Hand it in. You can't change your answers after that.

Your figures are your own: nobody else in the class has the same ones. If the assignment is past its due date you can still hand it in, and it's marked late.

After you hand in

Depending on how your teacher set the assignment, you see Kelvin's answers and working once you've handed in, or once your teacher releases your mark. Show Kelvin's working under a question opens its steps.

Your mark is Satisfactory or Not yet satisfactory, with your teacher's feedback and any notes on questions. If it's Not yet satisfactory, choose Start attempt with the next attempt's number, such as “Start attempt 2”, to answer the same kinds of question with new figures. You can't start another attempt while your last hand-in waits to be marked.

If your teacher finishes the class, your hand-ins and marks stay there for you to read.

Note

Nobody else in the class sees your work. Your teacher sees your name, your hand-ins and your marks, and nothing else of your account.
