Set one of your tests and mark it

Set a published test in a class or course, then mark its short answers right or wrong when the work is handed in.

Set it

  1. 1

On the class or course, start a new assignment or task, and under Set from choose One of your tests.

  2. 2

Pick the Test. Only published tests appear.

  3. 3

Give it a Title, a Due (optional) date if you want one, and choose when Kelvin's answers to the calculated questions are shown.

  4. 4

    Choose Set it.

A copy of the test as it is now goes with the assignment, so editing the test later doesn't change it.

Mark it

  • Kelvin re-checks every answer against the questions drawn again, with your written answers, in your own browser. It never takes a score from what the student's browser saved.
  • For each short answer, read the Marking guide and choose Right or Wrong under Your mark for this answer. The Total follows.
  • Save the mark once every short answer has a mark. A test with short answers is never signed off in one go.
  • Scores are in marks. A short answer not yet marked counts as to mark, never as wrong.

When students see the written answers

Written questions are the same on every attempt, so their answers are held back until the task is finished. Once you release a mark, a student sees whether each written answer was right. They see the answers themselves only once the task is marked satisfactory, so a resubmission isn't answered for them.
