Add a written question to your test

Write a multiple-choice, true or false, or short-text question with your own answer, for what Kelvin doesn't work out.

Training and classes · For teachers and supervisors · Updated 12 Oct 2026

Written questions are for what Kelvin has no figures for: safety, legal duties, procedures, your firm's own practice. The answer is yours, and students see the question labelled as set by you, not checked by Kelvin.

  1. 1

Under Add a question, choose Multiple choice, True or false or Short text.

  2. 2

    Write the Question.

  3. 3

For multiple choice, write two to six options and choose the right one with the button beside it. For true or false, set The statement is.

  4. 4

For short text, add a Marking guide (optional). Only whoever marks the test sees it.

Multiple choice and true or false are checked against your answer. Short text is marked by hand, right or wrong, when you mark the hand-in.

Note

A written question never asks for a figure. A question whose answer is a number is a calculated question, so Kelvin works it out.
