Work in more than one firm

Switch the firm you're working in, and what changes when you do: the work you see, your role, and where new work is filed.

Getting started · Updated 7 Oct 2026

You can belong to more than one firm: one you created and others that invited you, or several practices you work for. Kelvin shows one firm's work at a time, the firm you're working in.

  1. 1

Choose the firm's name under Firm at the top of the rail. It shows the firm you're working in, your role there, and your other firms.

  2. 2

Choose the firm to work in. Kelvin confirms the switch and reloads every ledger for that firm.

  3. 3

On a phone, or if you prefer, choose it under Working in on Settings → Firm instead.

What changes when you switch

  • New designs, calculations and requests are filed under the firm you're working in.
  • Engineering Projects, the Dashboard and the other ledgers show that firm's work.
  • What you can do is set by your role in that firm, which may differ from your role in another.
  • Settings → Firm, Members and Billing show that firm, and its plan is the one that applies.

Joining or creating another firm

Accepting an invite from another firm adds you to it without switching you to it: switch when you want to work there. Creating a firm switches you to the new one straight away.

Note

If you belong to more than one firm and haven't chosen one, the firm screens say No firm chosen. Choose one under Working in on Settings → Firm.
