Kelvin's screens share one frame: the rail down the left, the chart header across the top, the page itself, and the event margin down the right. On a phone, the rail becomes tabs along the bottom.
The rail
- At the top, Kelvin names the product you're in. Choose it, then Open Deployr, to go to Deployr.
- Under it, Firm names the firm you're working in. See Work in more than one firm.
- Then the open project's calculation chain, one row per station. A lime square, the pen, marks the station you're on, and a station with events carries their mark and count.
- Workspace holds Dashboard, Requests, Engineering Projects and Refrigerant Library. Help and Settings sit at the foot, and Collapse narrows the rail to icons.
- On a phone, the tabs are Home, Projects, Design, Reports and Profile (which opens Settings), and the open project's chain runs under the top bar.
The chart header
Across the top, the chart header names the page, then the project you're working on.
- A refrigeration project shows System, Refrigerant, Cycle, Load and Evap / Cond. On Cycle, Record says whether what's on screen is saved.
- An HVAC or hydronic project shows Project, Type, Location, Cooling DB / MCWB and Heating DB.
- Some cells show only on a wide screen. Away from Cycle, choose the project's name to open the project.
- With no project open, it reads No system selected, with Open a project beside it.
The event margin
Down the right of a wide screen, Events lists the warnings and notes the page has worked out. Each one has a level, carried by its mark and its word:
- Critical: a filled diamond.
- Warning: a hollow square.
- Note: a square struck through.
Each event names its station: choose the name to go there. With nothing to report, the margin narrows and reads No events. On a phone, events sit in a strip above the page.
Pinned readings
Many pages carry a strip of readings under the chart header. Pin readings chooses which ones it shows. Each page keeps its own choice, in this browser.
Units, light and dark
- Metric and Imperial, on Cycle and Energy, switch the unit system. The chart header and the other pages that convert units follow it, and Kelvin keeps the choice in this browser.
- On a wide screen, the moon or sun button at the right of the chart header switches between light and dark (Switch to dark mode, Switch to light mode). Kelvin keeps that in this browser too.
Search Kelvin
Search Kelvin in the chart header, or Ctrl K (⌘K on a Mac), finds any page or station. On a phone, it's the magnifying glass in the top bar. Type a question and choose Search help for to search the help instead.
