Find and open a project

Find a project in Engineering Projects, see where it stands at each station, and open it where you need to work.

Getting started · Updated 7 Oct 2026

Engineering Projects lists the projects saved in the firm you're working in, most recently saved first, with where each one stands at every station of its chain.

  1. 1

Find the project in the ledger. It shows your own projects at first. When colleagues have projects too, Engineer shows one colleague's instead, or Everyone at the firm.

  2. 2

Choose the project's name to open it: in Cycle, Design Conditions or Circuits, by its type. It stays the open project as you move along its chain.

  3. 3

To open it at another station, choose that station's mark in the project's chain. Each mark says whether that station's latest record is current, stale or none saved, and the key under the ledger names every mark.

  4. 4

On a refrigeration project, the arrow at the start of its row shows its Cycle readings and Version history.

One ledger per kind of project

Refrigeration projects are in the Project ledger, with refrigerant, cycle, load, SST / SCT, COP and when each was saved. HVAC projects, HVAC projects with hydronic plant, and hydronic projects each have a ledger of their own, because each runs its own chain.

The row menu

  • Open in opens the project at the station it starts on, and names it: Cycle for refrigeration, Design Conditions for HVAC, Circuits for hydronic.
  • Report PDF downloads a refrigeration project's Cycle report. HVAC and hydronic reports are issued from the Reports station.
  • Export JSON downloads the project as a file, and Import adds a project from such a file, with “(Imported)” after its name.
  • Delete… asks first and lists what is saved against the project at other stations. It can't be undone.

Across the whole firm

Owners and admins find counts across the firm's saved refrigeration designs and equipment selections under Settings → All projects, with Export Excel and Export PDF.

Note

Projects you don't see may belong to another firm you work in. See Work in more than one firm.
