Kelvin has no display-case load model, and ships no manufacturer's data. When your firm has entered its display fixtures in its library from their datasheets, each one carries the duty its maker publishes, and the Pipe Layout places it with that duty instead of the page default.
- 1
Add the fixtures to Settings → Your firm → Equipment library under Display fixtures, one at a time or from a spreadsheet: see Import library entries from a spreadsheet.
- 2
On the Pipe Layout, find them in the palette under From the firm library. On a two-stage or booster system they're split into Low temp and Medium temp by whether each holds frozen or chilled stock.
- 3
Drag one onto the plan. It lands as a display case at its published duty, named for its model, with its brand and model filled in and its mark drawn to its length and depth at the plan's scale.
- 4
Click it and read the Display fixture section in the Evaporator sheet: its published duty, its source, whether its library entry was checked when it was copied, and how the duty stands where the case runs.
A case already on the plan
For a display case placed from a preset, choose a fixture in From the firm library in its Display fixture section. Its duty becomes the case's load, and its brand and model are copied in. The case takes the model as its name while its name is still one Kelvin gave it. None — duty entered here takes the fixture off and keeps the load you see.
What Kelvin says about the duty
- Evaporating compares the temperature the duty is published at with the case's own evaporating temperature, if you entered one in Quick edit, or else its suction group's from the cycle. Matches within half a kelvin; Differs otherwise. The duty is used as published either way: Kelvin doesn't correct a fixture's duty to another evaporating temperature. Not judged means one of the two temperatures isn't known.
- A duty per metre is multiplied by the fixture's length, and the section shows the sum.
- If you type another load, the section says the load was changed from the published duty, and Use the published duty puts it back.
- If the library entry has been edited since the case copied it, Copy it again takes its current figures.
What is copied
The fixture's figures are copied into the layout when it's placed or chosen, as every pick from the library is. A later edit to the library entry never changes a saved layout. Changing a case to a coolroom takes its fixture off.
Note
A fixture whose entry gives no duty can't be saved in the library, so every fixture in the palette has one. An entry made inactive is no longer offered, and a case that copied it keeps its copy.
