Why Kelvin has no manufacturer catalogues

Kelvin ships no manufacturer's equipment data. Enter each model from its datasheet, once, in your firm's library, and Kelvin judges it on that alone.

Equipment and reference libraries · Updated 7 Oct 2026

Kelvin includes no manufacturer's catalogue of evaporators, compressors, condensers, gas coolers, expansion valves, oil separators or receivers. Instead, you enter each model from its manufacturer's datasheet, with the document it came from, the conditions it's rated at and any correction the datasheet publishes.

That way every figure a model is judged on comes from a document you hold, and the equipment report can name it.

  1. 1

To enter a model for one project, choose Enter from datasheet on the Equipment station.

  2. 2

To reuse a model across projects, add it once to Settings → Your firm → Equipment library: see Add equipment to your firm's library.

  3. 3

Have a colleague check a library entry against its datasheet before projects rely on it: see Check and approve a library entry.

How Kelvin judges an entered model

Kelvin applies only the corrections the datasheet publishes. Where a check needs a correction the datasheet doesn't publish, the line reads Not judged, with the reason, rather than guess. The equipment report lists the document each model's figures came from.

Note

Your firm's library is yours alone. It's never shared with another firm or gathered into a catalogue for Kelvin, and the datasheet PDFs you attach are kept private to your firm.
