Kelvin keeps one reference library for every firm. It holds the published tables the HVAC, hydronic and fluid calculations read, and the design-condition profiles of weather stations that a project's outdoor conditions are copied from. Every row cites the table it was taken from.
What your projects take from it
- Choosing a project's location on Cycle, or its design conditions on an HVAC project, copies a weather station's design data into the project. The copy is the project's own, so a later change to the library never changes it.
- The HVAC and hydronic stations offer the library's tables wherever they ask you to choose one.
- Energy's expected consumption takes its daily temperature profile from the library.
- A calculation reads only the library's active rows.
When a table is missing
Kelvin doesn't estimate a published table. A result that needs a table the library doesn't have yet names each missing table, where it comes from and what it was needed for, and appears once the table is added. Write to hello@sentorotech.com.au to say which tables you need.
Who looks after it
Kelvin licenses the data and maintains the library itself. Firms never enter tables of their own, and a firm's owners and admins can't edit it. Only Kelvin staff can open Settings → Kelvin staff → HVAC reference library.
For Kelvin staff
- Under Reference tables, narrow the list by group or search, tick Only tables with rows to hide empty tables, and add rows with Add table or Import tables.
- Under Design-condition profiles, use Find a station to search by name, country or WMO number, and add stations with Add profile or Import station reports.
- A reference table row isn't saved until it cites its source. A project that already copied a profile keeps its own copy, whatever later happens to the row.
