When reports can't be made

What to do when the report service is over its limit, your firm reaches its daily report limit, or a bundle is too large to make.

Reports, versions and sign-off · Updated 7 Oct 2026

Every report Kelvin makes, whether a preview, a download or a bundle, is rendered as a PDF by Kelvin's report service. Three limits can stop one, and each says which it is.

  1. 1

Read the message Kelvin shows. It names the limit that was reached.

  2. 2

If a banner across the top of the workspace reads "Report generation temporarily unavailable", wait: the report service has reached its document limit for the period, and every report and bundle fails until it resets.

  3. 3

If the message says how many reports your firm has rendered in the last 24 hours, your firm has reached its own daily limit. Try again later, or ask Sentoro to raise it.

  4. 4

If a bundle is too large to make as one document, issue its reports one at a time from each row's Report menu.

While the banner is up

Kelvin won't start a bundle while the report service is known to be over its limit, so you don't wait for one to fail. The warning clears once a report is made again.

A push to Deployr made in that time still goes, without its report PDFs, and Kelvin queues the reports for that request. The banner counts the queued pushes, and owners and admins see Retry queued reports: it makes the reports again and re-sends each queued push with them. If the service is still over its limit, the queue is kept for the next try.

A push that carried no equipment rows can't be re-sent this way. Once reports can be made again, push it again from the request's page.

Your firm's daily limit

A firm can render a set number of reports in any 24 hours. Previews count as well as downloads, and a bundle counts as one. When the limit is reached, the message gives your firm's count and its limit.

Note

To raise your firm's limit, write to hello@sentorotech.com.au and say which firm it is for.
