The top of every report says who issued it, who it is for and which document it is. A detail with nothing behind it isn't printed.
Your letterhead
Your firm's logo, name, ABN and address, from Settings → Firm. Owners and admins set the name, ABN, address and Document prefix under Firm profile, then choose Save firm profile. The logo is set under Logo with Upload logo, and is saved as soon as it is chosen. Upload a PNG, JPEG or SVG; Kelvin stores it as a PNG.
Every page's footer names your firm and the document, with "Calculated in Kelvin" under it.
Who the report is for
- 1
On Reports, with the project selected, find Prepared for under the system.
- 2
Enter the Client, Site, Site address and Job reference you want printed.
- 3
Choose Save. The "Prints as" line under the cells shows the row every report on the project will carry.
A cell left empty takes what the Deployr requests linked to the project say, as long as they agree; where they differ, nothing is printed for it. Saving these clears no check or approval and makes no report stale. Owners, admins and engineers can change them; reviewers read them.
The document number
- Each report is a document in your firm's register, with a number of its own: your prefix and four digits, such as THX-0042, or the digits alone without a prefix.
- Issuing the same report again keeps its number and counts up its issue: Issue 1, Issue 2.
- A bundle is one document, and every report in it carries the bundle's number.
- Downloading a report, downloading or emailing a bundle, and pushing reports to Deployr each issue it. Viewing a report in Kelvin doesn't: the copy reads "Preview — not issued" and takes no number.
- A number never changes once given. Changing your prefix changes only the numbers given after it.
Issued documents, at the foot of Reports, lists every issue of the project's documents, newest first: its number, title, issue, status, and when it went out and who issued it.
Status and version
Status comes from the sign-off of every record the report draws on: Approved when all of them are approved, Checked when all of them are checked, otherwise Preliminary. See Have a design checked and approved.
A report drawn from one record, such as the Cycle report or a charge, also prints that record's Version: one more than the earlier versions it has replaced.
Note
If Kelvin can't read your letterhead, logo or client when you issue a report, or can't number it, nothing is made and the message says what failed. Try again; a report that failed keeps the number it was given.
