Not judged means Kelvin can't set this model's capacity against its duty without a correction the datasheet doesn't publish. The model gets no Pass, Undersized or Oversized until it can, and the line under the group, or in the row, says why. Not judged never counts as a pass.
Why Kelvin does this
An entered model is judged only on its published rating. Kelvin applies a correction only where the datasheet publishes one: a refrigerant factor, a TD correction, or coefficients that rate the model at other conditions. Without one, any figure Kelvin gave would be its own guess about someone else's equipment.
A compressor group with one model Kelvin can't rate isn't judged at all, because its capacity would read short by that model.
The reasons it gives
- Rated for another refrigerant, and the datasheet gives no factor for this one. If the datasheet publishes a correction to the system's refrigerant, enter it in Factor for refrigerant and Published factor.
- Rated at one TD only, and the datasheet publishes no TD correction. If the datasheet says capacity is linear with TD, choose Linear with TD, as published under Capacity at other TDs (on a condenser rated by heat rejection, Heat rejection at other TDs).
- A compressor's rated point is judged only at its own evaporating and condensing temperatures. To rate it at the design's, enter the datasheet's coefficients: under How it's rated, choose Coefficients. Displacement gives an estimate instead.
- Coefficients apply only to the refrigerant they were rated with, and only inside their operating envelope: AHRI 540 doesn't allow a polynomial to be extrapolated, so Kelvin doesn't.
- A rated point or coefficients need the stage's condensing temperature. Where the cycle doesn't give one, as for a booster's low temp group, enter the displacement instead.
- An expansion valve's capacity is judged only at the evaporating and condensing temperatures it was read at. Enter the datasheet's capacity at the design's temperatures.
- A receiver's pump-down is judged only for the refrigerant it's published for.
- On a group judged by mass flow, a rated point gives only a capacity in kW at its own rating conditions, so it isn't judged there. Enter the displacement instead, or coefficients that include a mass-flow set.
- The saved cycle results don't carry a figure this group needs, because the design was saved before Kelvin recorded it. Re-save the cycle.
What to do
- 1
Read the reason under the group or in the row.
- 2
Choose the model's name to open its entry, and look in the datasheet for the figure the reason names.
- 3
Enter only what the datasheet publishes, with its source, and save the entry. The verdict follows straight away; save the selection to keep it.
- 4
Where the reason is the saved cycle, open the design on Cycle and save it again, then come back to Equipment.
